If Chyrisilis was truly in Canterlot just to feed her hive, her 'minions' not children if we go by official sources, and not there to be a conquerer... and changlings feed on love. Well lets just say the changling queen went about it in a very wrong way, as it would have been better to have the changlings not as an army sized force but one by one to infultrate the land and take the lives of ponies with friends, family, and special somepony that loved the one they took over. This would have fed the changlings and not leave them to starve, while also making it so there presence wasn't revealed to those who would be most able to stop them..
I don't like how changelings were "defeated"... This makes me want to help them.
Also, I like how all the background looks a lot like the changelings themselves. A desolated landscape for creatures who are not only desolated on the outside, but also in the inside after their defeat.
I imagen this would be really sad for her if this actually were to happen in the show. She would lose everything. And would anypony be there to help her? No. Because they attacked Canterlot. But she deserves a second chance. Everypony does.
The fact that they completely ignored the fact that they practically murdered a shit load of sentient beings with loves is completely glossed over is something that I don't want to think about. They didn't try to gain peace with the enemy while they were trapped, which is strange seeing as the leader was right in front of them and could be talked to to prevent any further bloodshed. The fact that they prefer friendship and love over a giant war kinda goes against you when you choose to launch a spell that is undoubtedly going to kill a lot of ponies/changelings with the added force of gravity even with their hard outer shells
Dude... you're borderline obsessed with this... i don't mind you criticizing this work but i don't think this is a place to bring debates about the immaturity of fans. In any case it's only natural that someone feels sympathy for someone hurt like that. Even the Great Alexander covered King Darius his mortal enemy with his cloack when he died betrayed by his comrades... I am sure Celestia would do the same.
I don't think it's fair of you to label me 'obsessed' just because I'm interested in or passionate about a subject. I'm interested in a variety of subjects in the fandom and I was looking to bring in or state a debate. Someone asked me what it meant and I answered.
Um, hold on, I'm sorry but that is simply not true. I don't do this on every single cute changeling pic. Two of the latest pics, 'The times, they are a changeling' and 'from cradle to grave' I commented on because they were two pictures I commissioned, and that wasn't just on "changeling apologism". I actually don't comment on many pictures.
I hardly consider myself like ChrysalisLover, and c'mon, the guy's not hurting you or anybody.
Dumped in the empty, lonesome and "loveless" badlands. No one would like to share this fate. Isn't that right? And seeing Queen Chrysalis like that puts me into a situation of conflicting thoughts. It's a bit like in this scene in the "Man of steel" movie, when general Zod says: "... and now I've no people."
Sometimes it can happen that you start to think, you can understand a villains reasons or/and feelings. I don't know if that's a bad or good thing. The point is: I feel sorry for her right now. But that could be because I'm a fan of her anyway.
Then again: You could ask, if the situation would be reversed, and Chysalis would have thrown Celestia, Luna and the mane six into the badlands, if Chrysalis would show later the same sympathy and feeling sorry for them? I would... doubt it. But hey, we haven't seen all depth and heights of her whole personality, so we probably don't know everything. Maybe she could be nicer then she was. Who knows?
I find the scene in this picture very sad and heartrending btw. It makes (somehow) sense because, thinking of how insect societies work, the queen is automatically also always a mother. A mother of many, many, many. And her main target is probably to keep her own kind alive. So I can actually see her, how she gives her last energy to save the last "survivors" of her own kind. A mother would give everything to save her childs.
However: Amazing and touching picture, which I've to fave ^^
The scenery with the cloudy heaven and those colours reminds me a bit to the realm of the hyenas in "The lion king" and makes me also think to the final scene in Hitchcock's "The birds" for some reason (probably because of the heaven).

Except there really is now canon evidence from the show or the comics that changeling society is an eusocial insect society and that Chrysalis is their mother. It is entirely popular fannon that many fans just choose to accept as fact.
