When the rain pours down on dry soil and fallen leaves, the air fills with a very distinct scent. To some it's simply a natural phenomenon after the storm, to some it's the reminder that the summer is gone.
Back a week or so, an inspiration struck me after taking a walk in the forest and realizing how in mere weeks everything turned from green to rust. And there's always that distinct smell of petrichor and dead leaves mixing. Who took mah summer away?
I'm in love with the background! The sky is wonderful! And AJ looks just so happy!
This is a very sweet and comforting take on Applejack as she heads towards the market. She looks so warm and cozy, but more importantly so happy for the nice autumn day that it makes me smile too. Lovely work on the mare, and the farm and surrounding scenery are gorgeous as well; cool to see a rainbow as the sprinkles move out, and the glistening droplets on the leaves and sign further set all the senses in gear. She'd just better be sure to wash those muddy hooves before she steps inside at the end of the day.
By the way, that's a nice bit of poetry to go with the picture too. Thanks.
Thank you for creating this!
